E. 2 – TRASH-CAN STUDY (2025) — 1′28″
Commissioned for a transdisciplinary performance event involving acousmatic pieces, photographs and art films
Fixed media (acousmatic) · 1′28″ · Single-movement
Stereo (two channels)
Programme note:
This short acousmatic étude was conceived as a purely formal experiment intended to feature a deliberately ordinary object—namely, a bathroom trash-can—while attempting a displacement of its semantic associations through a constrained writing exercise. The resulting “trash-can percussion” is treated along the lines of contrapuntal imitative writing—evoking the procedures of sacred music—thus forcing new meaning onto it.
Trash-can Study invites listeners to re-contextualize sound-objects and challenge traditional layers of meaning.
